Role/Responsibilities: AKG is technology provider for advanced microphone technology in WP4 and WP5. Within the project our multi microphone technology based on electronic beam-forming will be used for acoustic event localisation in combination with advanced methods of acoustic pattern recognition.

AKG products are dedicated to the transmission of voice and music. Around the world recording studios, radio and TV stations, opera houses and famous stages count on AKG products. AKG is one of the leading manufacturers of high-quality microphones, headphones and wireless-equipment and a leading audio supplier based on many breakthrough innovations documented in a large number of patents. AKG’s headphones technology is recognised for applying binaural technology using proprietary IVA (individual virtual acoustics) processing.
AKG has experience in the development and production of microphones for recording and broadcast, installed sound, musicians and for applications in the automotive environment. Advanced solutions with array microphones are installed in automotive serial production. Research cooperation has been performed with several national universities and universities abroad. AKG participated in a number of national and international research projects amongst others within the 5th and 6th European framework. A high gain acoustic beam-forming microphone was successfully installed in aircraft cockpit for pilots voice pickup within “SAFESOUND”, a project sponsored by European Commission's GROWTH program (GRD1 2001).
